I have no idea how time flew by so fast, but our princess is 2!!!! Seems like just yesterday, I was picking her up and she was only 4 months old! She has just grown into this little personality. She is almost always happy, uses her manners, puts on her own shoes and socks, and for the first time last night she slept in a "big girl bed"!!
We just had Papa and Grammy and Uncle Wally and Auntie Robynn over for cake and ice cream. I figured this could be the last year I would be able to get away with no party. She doesn't know any better yet! We had her 1st birthday party and it was fun, but I just wanted to keep it low key this year.
The Birthday Girl
All morning long Lily was so excited that it was her Birthday, she kept singing Happy Birthday and she was eying up her cake very closely!
Blowing out her candles
She got a big girl bed this year, another thing I thought I could get away with this year since she doesn't know any better. Goodness knows she didn't need a thing! I love this photo where she is pointing at the picture of the bed!
Daddy and Uncle Wally putting the bed together with Lily supervising!
Her big girl bed in her room! It looks so different without her crib!
Lily getting ready for bed Lily was excited to try out her new bed until...... we turned out the light. She started screaming for her Mommy. I stood outside her door and cried like a little girl. She cried for about 5 mins, then I went in and put her back in bed and sat with her. Well, she just thought that was play time! So I left her again and I walked away. She was back to screaming again, but I didn't go in there!!! She cried for maybe another 5 mins and she was quiet. I figured she was sleeping behind her door because that's where she was screaming from. I waited about 1/2 hour then slowly opened the door, so I wouldn't smash her. Guess what????? She was asleep in her bed like a big girl!!!! Of course, I cried like a little girl then too!!!
She actually didn't get out of her bed and play, which totally surprises me! I picked up her room before she went to bed, just so I would know if she played or not. Well this morning when I went to get her up, she was sitting in her bed and there were no toys out! I'm sure it won't be this easy every night, but we're gonna take it!!
